Reaching 1 billion international passengers in 2012

Despite the prolonged economic crisis, the number of universal tourists is expected to be 1 billion in 2012.

General Secretary of the World Tourism Organization of the United Nations (UN WTO), Taleb Rifai said on December 12th that travel demand has reached to record numbers in 2012 despite the economic difficulties.

In 2012, Although Europe are grappling with the debt crisis, the number of travelers is increased by 3%, and the number of Asian visitors is risen by 7%, while the number of tourists worldwide increased by 4% compared to that of 2011.

The statistics shows the strong recovery of "smokeless industry" in the world compared to 2009 - the time of the world financial crisis which made the tourism fell down by 3.8% and it was grown up 6.6 percent in 2010.

According to the UN WTO, the number of international tourists will reach 1.8 billion passengers in 2030. /.
